In many ways spyware is more destructive than viruses. For this reason it is important for anyone surfing the internet to keep themselves protected against this threat. Some people have found it difficult to grasp some of the finer points. At a minimum, you should run Spybot once a month and immunize your system from attacks. Before you scan your computer, be sure to run the updates so you can find and remove the latest threats.

Check for Problems and Fix Them

Click the Search & Destroy tab on the left side of Spybot’s main window, and then click Check for Problems. You will see the scan progress in the status bar at the bottom of the window. You can stop the progress at any point by pressing the Stop check button that has just appeared (it will vanish again once the check has finished).

If the scan has found something, the list will show it. You can now select the problems you want to fix, by clicking the checkbox before it, or by selecting all using the Select all button (this button will only be able in advanced mode by enabling the expert button setting.
